spring meditation

Spring is a time of waking up. After the cool darkness of winter, the flood of light energizes our minds and bodies. The world, buzzing with life, draws us outside.

The seasons are like the world’s inhalation and exhalation. During winter’s inbreath, things go underground, and we sink more deeply into our internal work. Springtime is the beginning of the outbreath, when what has been transforming in the dark begins to come into view.

As you enjoy the warm spring weather, I hope that you also see sprouts emerge from the seeds you’ve planted. The seed of Eugene Imagination Yoga has grown slowly over its first few months, and I will continue to nurture and care for in hopes it will bear fruit that nourishes and delights our community.

My hope is that Eugene Imagination Yoga will play what small part it may in helping young humans to embrace their uniqueness, love themselves completely, and become beacons of light when the world is dark. When we take time to breathe, reflect, and connect with our hearts and with those around us, we remember who we are and the vital importance of treating ourselves and others gently and kindly.

Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed… Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders.
